Maximusconfessor mail server modernisation in the coming days
The upgrade of the Moses mail server is now complete. all2all is continuing the upgrades and modernisation of its mail infrastructure with Maximusconfessor, one of the servers providing mailbox hosting and mail routing.
Preparatory checks are under way and the work is planned for the coming days. It will include a Debian upgrade and the progressive alignment of the server with the modern mail stack already deployed on the other all2all nodes.
This work has become necessary because several components of the old system are no longer maintained upstream. This includes the version of ClamAV available on the current Debian base: it can no longer receive the signature updates required for effective antivirus protection.
The objective is to restore a supported software base, current filtering functions and stable, reliable mail routing, while preserving existing mailboxes and configuration.
Short interruptions of some mail services or webmail may be required during the different stages. Sending mail servers normally retry delivery when a destination server is temporarily unavailable. We will monitor the platform throughout the operation and announce a more precise maintenance window if a longer user impact is expected.
